Setting up the space

To celebrate it’s 50th Anniversary, San Patricio Plaza, a family-owned mall called upon Estudio Interlínea to develop the design of an exhibit showcasing their trajectory. First challenge, they had not properly documented their history. Although there were various photos, none were of the quality needed to be used. We digitalized the materials they had in order to create a visual library to work with. Second challenge, the history of the mall only existed verbally. We researched any stories or timelines that featured the mall in newspapers and also interviewed the owners and employee’s that had worked for over 20 years with the mall. The best stories came from the people that lived through the growth. In addition to designing the exhibit, we oversaw the entire preparation and installation.

Visitors

The exhibit space remained open from October 2014 until October 2015. You could overhear visitors reminiscing about the different elements pictured like the vintage pylon sign, the photographs of the Felicilandia theme park and the different events through time.
