Punctuation marks showcase the stories from the canal system in the northwestern region of Puerto Rico. For this guided tour, each punctuation mark designated one of twelve stops where a tour guide would elaborate on different interest points of the system. Flora and fauna was represented by the asterisk & dagger (beginning and end), engineering was represented by the percentage sign (inclination and mathematical equations), and the historical precedents (surprising in a sense of enthusiasm and questioning) used the interrobang as its symbol. The oversized acrylic plaques with the lined the entire canal. After the tour, the public would reach the town hall where they could see more information regarding the twelve stops they just made and get a brochure as a summary to take home. The modular exhibit was designed to be handed over to the officials of Isabela that would keep presenting the event. Easy assembly was part of the challenge, but also graphic ID patterns helped guide users.
